Donald Hunsberger limits his practice to the areas of Estate and Business Planning for business owners, professionals, and other high net worth individuals.

Mr. Hunsberger writes regularly for a number of business, financial, and tax related journals. He is one of the editors of a national financial planning journal, has published articles on buy-sell agreements, annuities, business valuations, estate planning, employee benefits and other planning related topics, and he is one of the authors of an encyclopedia for financial planning for the elderly.

Mr. Hunsberger is a Fellow of the American Society of Gerontological Finance, and he has taught estate planning and business planning for the American College, National University, the University of Phoenix, and the University of California, Irvine. Mr. Hunsberger has also taught Pension Planning for Wharton’s Certified Employee Benefit Specialist Program.

Attorney’s Background

Before opening his law offices, Mr. Hunsberger was an attorney in the Estate and Business Planning Department of Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Company, and later headed the Estate and Business Planning functions for four major insurance companies in Orang County.

He has been recognized for his advanced understanding of the uses of insurance in estate and business planning by being named to the Board of Directors of the Orange County Chapter of the American Society of Chartered Life Underwriters and Chartered Financials Consultants.

Mr. Hunsberger’s estate planning practice includes significant work in the area of charitable planning, and he serves on boards for the YMCA, the Western Medical Center Hospital, and the Orange County Council of the Boy Scouts of America. His practice in the charitable giving area has also included work with the City of Hope, California State University Long Beach, California State University, Fullerton, the Olive Crest Homes, and numerous religious organizations.

Mr. Hunsberger is a member of the California Bar, the Indiana Bar, the Orange County Bar, and the Estate Planning Council.

Mr. Hunsberger received his BA with honors from De Pauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, and both his MBA and his Law Degree from Indiana University. He was a member of the staffs of the Indiana Business Review, the Indiana Business Horizons, and the Indiana Law Review.

Biography
Robin L. Klomparens is a shareholder in the firm’s Business Transactions Section and chairs the Personal Services Group. Admitted to the Florida Bar Association in 1986 and the State Bar of California in 1987, Ms. Klomparens has practiced before the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Florida, the Federal Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of California.

Ms. Klomparens represents individual clients and business clients of varied stature. When working with individuals, she focuses on issues of income, estate, gift and charitable tax planning, estate and trust administration, asset protection, retirement planning, tax controversy, and other related matters. When necessary, Ms. Klomparens is also involved in litigation in estates and trust, guardianships, conservatorships, Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), and other related litigation. Biography
Kay U. Brooks is Of Counsel to the firm’s Business Transactions Section. Admitted to the State Bar of California in 1982, she focuses on estate and tax planning for individuals, families, and small businesses, estate and trust administration, business succession planning, asset protection and other related matters.

A member of the Sacramento community since 1990, Ms. Brooks came to the firm from her own estate planning practice based in Placer County. Previously, she practiced corporate securities law at a prestigious Los Angeles firm.

Ms. Brooks lectures on estate planning issues to a variety of community and business groups. She is a member of the Placer County Bar Association, the Sacramento County Bar Association, and the Estate Planning and Probate Sections of both the Sacramento County Bar and the State Bar of California. She served on the 1998-99 Board of Directors of the Junior League of Sacramento, Inc. She is currently a member of the Eureka Schools Foundation Board of Directors and Operating Committee, and the Roseville Chamber of Commerce.

Attorney James F. Watts is a California State Bar certified specialist in trusts, probate and estate planning. Mr. Watts received his Juris Doctorate degree from California Western School of Law in San Diego in 1977, and he completed his Masters of Laws degree (LL.M.) in Taxation Law at the University of San Diego graduate Law School in 1983. Prior to specializing in estate and business planning, Mr. Watts was a probate attorney in San Diego for a number of years.

Mr. Watts has authored articles published in Legal Journals, including: Taxes – The Tax Magazine; "Liquidation and Reincorporation as a Tool of the Tax Planner," July 1983 edition, and California Western Law Review; "The Criminal Law Enforcement Authority of Park Rangers in Proprietary Jurisdiction National Parks – Where Is It?" Volume 13, 1976-77, Number 1.

Mr. Watts is originally from Webster Groves, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. He attended Southeast Missouri State University and the University of Arizona. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology, with a minor in chemistry. Mr. Watts served 5 years in the United States Air Force. He finished his military service commitment as a Captain and Missile Crew Commander of a Titan II Intercontinental Ballistic Missile launch crew at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base near Tucson, Arizona. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Watts worked as a National Park Service Ranger at Saguaro (pronounced Sa-War-Oh) National Monument near Tucson, Arizona.

Mr. Watts was for 3 years, an instructor of estate planning in the certified financial planning program at the University of California (UCSD) La Jolla Campus. Mr. Watts is a member of the California Bar Association’s Estate Planning Trust and Probate Section.

About Brad Kuenning

Kuenning grew up in Montana, where he received a degree in music from the University of Montana in 1979. After several years of travelling in the music business, Mr. Kuenning settled in California and attended the University of Southern California Law School. He excelled in law school, where he was honored by being appointed Editor in Chief of the Southern California Law Review. He received his J.D. and began practicing law in 1989.

In 1994, Mr. Kuenning founded the Law Offices of Brad Kuenning, where his practice focuses on estate planning, trust administration and probate. He is admitted to practice before all State and Federal Courts in the Central District of California, and is a member of several bar associations and professional organizations. Among those organizations are the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, the Consumer Attorneys of California, the California Bar Association, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

History:

Jerry's first job following graduation from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1969 was a faculty position at Fresno State University, where he taught accounting (being by then a CPA) and law. He was one of the first professsors of the BLOCK program, an interdisciplinary 15 unit course for seniors.

However, the lure of the practice of law caused him to take a full-time legal position the following year. He established his own practice in March of 1975, continuing to teach part-time for several years thereafter. Education has always been what he believes to be the key to a satisfying life.

Community Achievements:

The years of leadership Gerald Lee Tahajian has given to his profession and his community have led him into arenas of responsibility and opportunity far beyond the experience of most of his peers.  His unusual qualities of leadership were recognized long before he launched his career. He was elected President of the Student Body at Fresno State University. He was also 1st runner-up for the Theta Chi Fraternity Colley Memorial Award presented to the most outstanding member in the nation.

Mr. Tahajian's selfless commitment to serve his clients and his community has propelled him to the top in many organizations:
